Group or private ski lessons: what's the best choice?

Every year, the ESF Val Thorens welcomes you for group or private ski lessons in one of the most beautiful resorts in the world, situated at an altitude of 2,300 metres. During the school holidays, your children can discover this essential winter sport and progress alongside qualified instructors who are passionate about their work.

Teenagers and adults can also take advantage of their stay in Savoie to sign up for ski school lessons, but should they opt for group lessons or private lessons with the ESF? Find out all the pros and cons of each option, and make your choice in Val Thorens !

Private ski lessons: the best way to improve your skiing

Holidaymakers often prefer to book private ski lessons, as this allows them to improve more quickly on the slopes of Val Thorens. This made-to-measure formula boosts everyone's progress, because the ESF instructor focuses exclusively on the pupil, his strengths and weaknesses.

He or she carefully observes the skier's technical movements and provides personalised feedback throughout the lesson. For their part, students can more easily ask questions, repeat the exercise and understand how to do it better, by taking their time.

These private ski lessons, available for children, teenagers and adults, are also better suited to introverted people. Finally, you can book them just for yourself, or share them with family and friends.

Up to eight people can take the same private ski lesson with ESF Val Thorens. However, prices are higher than for group lessons.

Group ski lessons: group atmosphere and emulation

Group ski lessons focus as much on technical progress as on a good atmosphere.

As a group, students have fun and challenge themselves on the slopes, driven by the desire to win and have a good time in the mountains with other skiers of the same level. Some even manage to make new friends during their stay and maintain these links from one year to the next.

The group effect also boosts everyone's motivation (emulation), because the progress of others often inspires you to outdo yourself on the slopes.

What's more, group ski lessons are more affordable than private lessons, so you can improve your skiing at the best possible price. However, this formula is not suitable for all personalities or all objectives.

Private or group ski lessons: choose your package online

Whether it's a question of budget, personality or objective, there are many reasons why you might choose one package over another. Now that you know more, all you have to do is book the one that suits you best in Val Thorens.

The ESF's tailor-made lessons always take place in this format for children, teenagers and adults: 5 or 6 mornings (2h45), 5 or 6 lunchtimes / afternoons (1h30 to 2h45), 5 or 6 days, 1 or 2 mornings (2h45).

It's up to you to decide how much time you're prepared to devote to learning to ski during your mountain holidays!
