The magic of the Christmas holidays on the slopes of Val Thorens
As the resort of Val Thorens comes alive and lights up to the rhythm of Christmas, the ESF has some lovely surprises in store for you, your family and your friends.
During the school holidays, your ski or snowboard instructors can be seen descending the slopes with torches, to the sound of music. On Christmas Eve, you may even be lucky enough to see fireworks in the same evening.
Afterwards, it's not uncommon for spectators to fall back on a delicious fondue from one of the resort's Savoyard restaurants to end the day on a gourmet note.

In Val Thorens, the magic is everywhere at this time of year, with a host of other festivities on the programme, including Father Christmas and a Gospel concert.
Experience timeless momentsFamily winter holidays in the mountains!
In January, the Val Thorens ESF mostly welcomes families from other countries. Different nationalities come together on the resort's slopes, such as the English and the Dutch.
When February marks the start of the French winter holidays, the atmosphere changes. The red jumpers at the ESF make for even more intense days, with children flocking to the ski and snowboard lessons.

Every time, it's the same pleasure: discovery, learning and games.
If February is such a busy month, it is also because the snow is of very high quality. It is therefore an ideal time for skiing!

Extend your winter season with spring skiing!
Winter is the perfect season for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Others, however, prefer to come to the mountains when the weather is milder, the crowds thin out and the days get longer.
To enjoy the mild spring weather in Val Thorens, we therefore recommend that you drop your bags in late March or early April. At this time of year, you can even take advantage of special rates on your rentals!
Even if the traditional torchlight descent is no longer on the programme in spring, your ESF instructors have plenty of other great surprises in store for you. For example, the Draisienne Cup will take place again in April 2025.
