Val Thorens has been awarded the Famille Plus label, making it an ideal ski resort for families looking for a mountain holiday.

From the age of 3, children can learn to ski like their parents by taking lessons with the ESF.

Children's ski courses: fun learning!

At the ESF Val Thorens Piou-Piou Club, toddlers are gently introduced to skiing with other children their own age.

As well as making friends and having fun, they learn the basics of skiing from a qualified instructor. At Montana Kindergarten, they can learn to ski in a safe and fun outdoor area.

From the age of 8, the ESF's range of courses expands to include the "Super 6" ski course, the "Team Rider" course and the "Junior Competition" course.

These 5- or 6-day ski courses all culminate in a festive medal ceremony at the end of the week: a magical moment for the children.

The medal ceremony: the event of the week

Over the course of the week, children aged 3 and over discover skiing and get their first gliding experiences under the close supervision of their ESF instructor.

How to get around on skis, slide down the slope, plough the snow, put on skis... All these efforts deserve a reward!

And that's good news, because the Val Thorens ESF is giving away a nice medal to collect to every registered skier on Friday morning. During this festive event, parents are invited to come along from 11.10am, while the children take to the slopes at around 11.20am.

Music, sweets, applause, activities (selfie board, etc.)... This moment so eagerly awaited by the apprentice skiers is always a great party for the families. It's a time for sharing, conviviality and happiness, during which children of different levels are celebrated.

Val Thorens with your family: memories to tell!

The medal ceremony is an excellent way to round off a ski course, or even a mountain holiday. It brings parents, children and instructors together around the same passion: the pleasure of skiing.

For their part, the apprentice skiers are welcomed like stars, as they make their way through the crowd to music, under the benevolent and proud gaze of the spectators.

Blanchot, Sifflote, Garolou, Ourson, Flocon, 1ʳᵉ Étoile... Each ESF medal distributed at this event represents and symbolises the evolution of the children over the years. A reward, a souvenir, a collection to start... These medals always have great stories to tell!
