What is the "Grande Dernière" in Val Thorens?
Every year, the Val Thorens ski resort prepares two major must-see events: the "Grande Première", at the opening of the season, and the "Grande Dernière", at its closing. Over an entire weekend, this year from 3 to 4 May 2025, winter sports fans are once again invited to celebrate the end of the season in a lively atmosphere.
The programme includes the "Course Big Der'", starting at 11am on Saturday 4 May at the summit of Péclet. Anyone over the age of 18 can sign up and take part in this winter highlight, as long as they book their place well in advance (price: minimum 35 euros).
ESF Val Thorens instructors will also be present at this sporting event, as they will be taking part in the race themselves, supervising it and providing safety during the descent. A great way for them to round off the year!

Saturday will end with a spectacular fireworks display visible from Place Caron. All in all, a memorable time in Val Thorens!
