Have you always been a keen skier or snowboarder ? Are the mountains like a second home to you?

Becoming an instructor is the best way to make a living from your passion while sharing your know-how and experience with motivated students of all ages and backgrounds.

While embarking on this adventure may seem like the obvious thing to do, obtaining your diploma requires you to complete a demanding training course combining theory and practice.

It's an exciting programme that you can prepare for with the ESF Academy!

Want to become a ski instructor? It's possible with the ESF Academy

Before you can become a ski instructor in Val Thorens, you'll need to enrol at ENSA and obtain a state diploma, so the ESF Academy has opened its doors to help you get the right training for the first tests.

To qualify as an instructor, you need to master many facets of this multifaceted profession - technical know-how, teaching and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of mountain safety.

Working alongside professionals, you'll benefit from the best teaching to prepare you for the official tests on the programme. The training centre offers a range of tailored modules so that you can practise for the technical test and UF 1.

These two objectives will enable you to enter the preparatory cycle and open your training booklet to qualify for trainee instructor status.

How do I join the ski instructor course?

To join the ESF Academy and later work in Val Thorens or your favourite resort, you'll need to meet a number of conditions.

The course is open to ski and snowboard enthusiasts aged 16 and over with a Flèche d'or or Chamois de vermeil level. You will also need an ESF Club or Fédération Française de Ski licence to take part in these preparatory weeks.

If you meet all these criteria, you can then select your favourite ski school, the organisation that will sponsor you and welcome you to take part in all the training offered by the ESF Academy.

Don't hesitate to contact the director of your ESF for more information.
