After an absence of 8 long years, the Freeride World Tour is making a comeback in the famous resort of Val Thorens. After Canada, Spain and even Austria, it's in the French resort that the event is coming to make a stopover. Are you planning a holiday in the mountains between 27 January and 1ᵉʳ February? The Freeride World Tour: a must this winter
A holiday in the mountains gives you the chance to cover miles of powder in search of thrills and spills. Whether you're a fan of skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or anything else, the snow offers you plenty of possibilities, especially when you go to a resort as versatile as Val Thorens.
This year, alongside your sporting exploits, you'll also have the opportunity to witness those of the sport's biggest names at the Freeride World Tour.
In 2025, the Freeride World Tour will comprise a total of 6 stages. The dates will be determined more precisely when the time comes, depending on the weather conditions:

- Between 18 and 23 January: Spain (Baqueira Beret)
- Between 27 January and 1ᵉʳ February: France (Val Thorens)
- Between 7 and 13 February: Canada (Kicking Horse)
- Between 23 February and 1ᵉʳ March: Georgia (Tetnuldi)
- Between 8 and 13 March: Austria (Fieberbrunn)
- Between 22 and 30 March: Switzerland (Verbier)

With its spectacular slopes, Val Thorens is the perfect place for the most skilled athletes to practice and challenge themselves, which is one of the reasons why it was chosen to host one of the stages of the Freeride World Tour. Situated at an altitude of 2,300 metres, it is the ideal playground for winter sports enthusiasts.
During the FWT 2025, riders will ascend to an altitude of 3,105 metres and face a vertical drop of more than 500 metres, with an average gradient of 32 degrees, before finishing their race at 2,575 metres.

To do this, competitors will take the Cime Caron ski lift to start their race from one of the region's most beautiful peaks.
